The Construction Training Fund Subsidy

The Construction Training Fund (CTF) is a WA government organisation which subsidises training and upskilling for those working in the civil construction industry.

Cape Training & Assessing are proudly approved bulk billers for the CTF. Eligible students will only need to pay the gap for their course, and we claim the rest directly through the CTF. The subsidised amount ranges from 45% up to 80% depending on the course.

The CTF pool is made up of funds from projects all over WA. If a project meets the CTF criteria, the project owner is required to pay into the levy, which then enables the workers on that project to receive subsidised training.

How does it work?

How do I know if I qualify?

To qualify for the CTF subsidy upfront, you must be currently working on an approved construction project worth over $20,000 in value. You must have been working on that job site for at least five days prior to your course commencement.

To see which projects qualify, click here.

If you don’t currently qualify for the CTF rebate, you have 12 months from the course commencement date to claim back with the CTF directly.

How do I apply for the subsidy?

All you need to do to apply, is fill out the requested CTF details when completing your online enrolment. You will be asked for the following information:

  • The name of the construction you’re project working on

  • The job site address

  • Who the head contractor is

  • What specific construction is taking place

  • When you started working on site

  • What your specific role is

We then review these details to ensure you qualify. If you do, this information is then also given to the CTF when we submit our claim with them. If you don’t provide these details upon enrolment, we cannot apply the rebate for your course.

If you are looking to claim back with the CTF after completing your course, you can do so here.
